✅ Opal (Google’s Latest AI) — A Super Simple Guide for Beginners (Junior High Edition)
We’ve simplified the steps so even first-timers won’t get lost.
No complicated tech words—just plain, easy instructions!
0. First, What Is Opal?
Opal is an AI that lets you create apps with words.
Its screen connects “dots (nodes)” and “boxes (cards).”
Node = the connecting dot
Card = what happens at that step (e.g., search / write text / create image)
1. Getting Started
Open the Opal website on your computer.
If it doesn’t work from Japan, switch your VPN to the U.S. (ask a teacher or parent).
Click “Create New” once it opens.
Now you’re standing at the starting line!
2. Tell It What You Want to Make (in Words)
Write one sentence in the big input box.
Example A:
“Make an app that creates a blog. First research, then generate headlines, next the body text, and finally a banner image.”
Example B:
“When I type an English word, show me 3 example sentences and Japanese meanings, then display everything in an easy-to-read HTML page.”
Click Run / Execute.
After a moment, you’ll see lines and boxes appear—this is the workflow.
It’s your app blueprint, and you can edit it anytime!
3. Test It Out
Switch to the “App” tab.
Type in some words or a URL and click Start.
Check if the result (text, image, or page) appears.
If it’s not what you expected, no worries—you’ll fix it next!
4. How to Fix Things (Two Ways)
🅐 The Easy Way — Ask in Chat
Type on the right-hand chat panel:
“Make it cute with a red theme.”
“Create the headlines before writing the body.”
“Add two images—one at the top and one at the bottom.”
🅑 The Detailed Way — Edit Cards
Go back to Editor.
Click a card to adjust its settings.
To add a new one, use Generate, User Input, etc.
To remove one, select and Delete.
If a line disconnects, drag to reconnect.
💡Tip: Try chat first, and if that doesn’t work, edit the cards.
5. Test Again → Publish
Go back to App and click Start again.
If everything looks good, open Share App.
Choose Private (just you) or Public (shareable).
Send the public link to your friends or teacher if you want to show them!
6. Common Problems & Fixes
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| The look doesn’t change | Ask in chat first; if not, adjust colors/styles in the cards. |
| Wrong order | Rearrange lines in this order: Input → Search → Create → Output |
| No images | Check if there’s an “Image Generate” card. If not, add one. |
| Weird Japanese | Ask in chat: “Please use easy Japanese.” |
| Too slow | Break the task into smaller steps (e.g., “Headlines first,” then “Body text”). |
7. Practice with These Two (Copy & Paste OK)
🧩 Practice 1: Blog Creator
“Theme: ‘Tips for Better Sleep.’ Search the web → make headlines → write the body → add one banner image at the end → combine into one HTML page.”
🧩 Practice 2: English Word Trainer
“When I input an English word, output 3 example sentences (EN→JP), short bullet-point notes, and a final ‘memory tip,’ all in an easy-to-read HTML page.”
8. Safety & Good Manners
Anything “Public” can be seen by anyone—don’t include personal or school info.
Ask a teacher or guardian if you’re unsure.
Always check the sources of text or images you use.
9. Quick 3-Minute Checklist
☑ Did you state your goal in one sentence?
☑ Did you first try fixing via chat?
☑ If that didn’t work, did you edit the cards?
☑ Did you re-test and confirm it works?
☑ Is your sharing setting correct?
🌟 Summary (One Takeaway)
Opal = Words → Blueprint.
Create first, fix with chat, fine-tune with cards.
If you remember just this order,
anyone can enjoy making their own app! 🚀
