1. The Balance Between the Conscious and the Unconscious
Managing the Unconscious
Many people believe they are in control of their own lives, but it’s often said that as much as 95% of our actions are driven by the unconscious. It’s like a child turning the steering wheel, unaware that an adult is actually pushing the car from behind.
The Importance of Increasing Conscious Awareness
Rather than being swept along by unconscious patterns, we must consciously understand where we want to go in life. By increasing our conscious control—from 7% to 10%, and beyond—we can begin to steer our lives in the direction we truly desire.
2. The Difference Between Automation and Scaling
Types of Income (Size vs. Automation)
Some people generate large income streams but are extremely busy; others may earn less but have solid systems in place that run on autopilot. “Automation” and “scaling” represent two distinct strategic axes that require different approaches.
The Challenge of Doing Both
Many aspire to both scale their income and automate their systems. However, because the strategies and tasks differ for each, blurring the line between them often leads to achieving neither effectively.
3. The Purpose and Overview of the Life Map
3-1. What Is a Life Map?
A Tool for Organizing Multiple Roles
We each play many roles simultaneously—“as a person,” “as a man/woman,” “as a father/mother,” “as a son/daughter,” “as a professional,” and so on. When these remain only in our heads, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and confused about what to do and when. By mapping these roles out—on paper or using a mind map—we can visualize what aspects we carry and what dreams or challenges are tied to each.
3-2. Clarifying “Dreams,” “Issues,” and “Concrete Actions (To-Do)” for Each Role
Putting Dreams (Goals) into Words
Examples: “I want to be stylish as a man/woman,” “I want financial power to protect my children as a parent,” “I want a new income stream as a professional.”
Identifying Challenges
Examples: Lack of time, lack of knowledge, lack of network, health concerns.
Turning Actions (TODOs) into a Schedule
Examples: Who to meet, where, and when. Rather than thinking vaguely like “Sundays are busy,” break time into 30-minute blocks and assign specific actions—e.g., “Do XX from 10:00–11:00, then YY from 11:30–12:00.” (Pomodoro time management techniques are recommended.)
4. How to Create and Use a Life Map (Practical Example)
Place Your Name in the Center (Mind Map Format)
Using tools like Xmind can help organize things efficiently (a PC is recommended over a smartphone).Branch Out Major Roles
Examples: As a person / As a man or woman / As a professional / As a parent / As a son or daughter / By project (e.g., as a business owner)For Each Role, Add “Dreams/Goals,” “Issues,” and “Actions for This Week” in Tree Form
Dreams/Goals: Who you want to become; what you want to achieve and by when
Issues/Challenges: What’s lacking, current concerns, what needs solving
Concrete Actions (TODOs): Specific tasks for this week (or month)
Review After a Week
Check whether your planned tasks were executed.
If not, analyze the cause and adjust your schedule accordingly.
By regularly updating your life map, you can incrementally move forward across all roles.Help Others Create Their Maps
By helping a friend or partner organize their thoughts, they will deeply appreciate it—and you’ll be better positioned to offer further suggestions or support.
5. Benefits of Using a Mind Map
Freeing Up Mental “Memory”
By writing things down—on paper or using digital tools—you move information from your brain to an external source, lightening your cognitive load.
Clarifying Priorities and Schedules
By breaking down what needs to be done and deciding when, where, and with whom to do it, vague anxieties turn into manageable, actionable tasks.
Improving Relationships
Because you explicitly consider how to interact with others—parents, children, partners, colleagues—trust naturally builds over time.
Naturally Proposing Business Ideas
When grounded in the life map, you can identify the other person’s challenges (e.g., health or finances) and propose your product or service in a way that feels natural and well-aligned.
6. Summary
Begin by Expanding Conscious Awareness
Don’t let 95% of your life be guided unconsciously. Expand the area of life you control consciously—aiming to increase your awareness from 7% to 10%, and beyond.Use the Life Map to Organize Your Multifaceted Roles
Break down your life into roles—as a person, a man/woman, a parent, a child, a professional—and manage your goals, challenges, and action steps for each in one unified system.Clarify Each Role’s “Dreams” and “Issues,” and Translate Them into Weekly TODOs
Making what’s in your head visible helps dissolve vague anxieties into specific, solvable challenges.Check Progress Weekly and Adjust as Needed
Even small tasks should be clearly scheduled. The cycle of action and feedback is crucial.Support Others with Their Life Maps and Propose Business Naturally
You can build trust more easily by offering suggestions that align with their needs and interests.
