Thank you for the Lamp Meeting in Sapporo the other day!
This is a "theoretically and progressively summarized" version of Bob Proctor’s lengthy speech (in Japanese). While the content is vast, it can primarily be broken down into the following 7 main themes:
🔷【Overal Structure: 7 Parts】
①【Introduction: A Lineage of Great Individuals】
Inspired by Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, Proctor delved into the philosophy of success.
Studied under Earl Nightingale, later working alongside him.
Spent over 50 years pursuing "the blossoming of human potential."
The learning process of successful individuals flows in the order: Thought → Emotion → Action → Result.
②【The Relationship Between Results and Paradigms】
"Results" are a reflection of our inner thoughts and emotions, not random events.
To change your life, you must change your paradigm (beliefs and habits).
Many people are controlled by their paradigms, which often leads to temporary change.
③【The Structure of Paradigms and How to Change them】
A paradigm is a "mental program that governs almost all habitual behavior."
While school education provides knowledge, it doesn't teach us how to change paradigms.
To change paradigms:
Conscious Mind (Thinking)
Subconscious Mind (Emotional Immersion)
Body (Practical action)→ You need to repeat these 3 steps.
④【The Importance of Goals and "C-type Goals"】
A true goal is something you desire deeply but don't yet know how to achieve.
Focus on C-type goals (those that you can't yet do) rather than A-type (already achievable) or B-type (seemingly achievable).
Pursuing these goals leads to spiritual growth and expansion.
⑤【Mind Models and Success Principles】
Human thinking works in "images," not words.
The brain is a switching mechanism; the mind (heart) is the source of thoughts.
The key to success lies in:
Belief, Choice, Imagination, and Willpower.
The process is so simple that even children can understand it.
⑥【Actions and Income Strategies:3 Paths】
M1:Exchange time for money (the majority) → Not recommended
M2:Make money work for you (investors) → A minority of successful people
✅M3: Build multiple income streams (MSI)
⑦【Creating the Future Beyond Paradigms】
As long as you are controlled by your paradigms, you are trapped in a "limited box."
Simply making a decision is enough to prepare to step outside of that box.
Humans possess infinite energy and potential.
To grow, you must adopt the attitude of "Learn, Forget, and Learn Again" (quoting Hoffer).
🔸Conclusion:"Everything You Need is Already Inside you"
Detailed Explanation of Step 5: Mind Models and Success Principles
Step 1: Human thinking works through images, not words.
Many people think "thinking = words," but in reality, we think in images. For example, when you think of a car, you visualize its shape, color, and size, not the word "car." Utilizing this "visual thinking" trait is crucial for imagery and goal achievement.Step 2: The brain is a switching device; thought originates from the mind (heart).
The brain is merely a relay station that reacts to input, while it is the mind that generates thoughts. This means that the brain is not the source of thoughts but the switching station. To change actions, you must first change your thought process.Step 3: The mind is made up of two areas:
Conscious Mind: Responsible for logic, choice, imagination, and free thinking. It connects with the external world through sensory input.
Subconscious Mind: Governs emotions, habits, beliefs, and automatic patterns. Once something is accepted by the subconscious, it is difficult to reject, and it influences actions.
Step 4: The key to success lies in mastering the following four uses of the mind:
1. Belief: Believing that you can do something causes the subconscious to move in that direction. It's not enough to believe in what you want; you must believe as if you've already achieved it.
2. Choice: People have the power to choose. No matter the circumstances, you can always choose how to respond. Focusing on "how to achieve" instead of "why it's impossible" leads to growth.
3. Imagination: Imagination is the blueprint for reality. The subconscious can't distinguish between reality and imagination, so repeatedly imagining something brings it closer to reality.
4. Willpower: Willpower is the ability to focus on a single point.
Step 5: Why is this so simple that even children can understand it?
This mind model can be represented in simple diagrams.
Example:Upper half = Conscious Mind (Choice, Imagination)
Lower half = Subconscious Mind (Emotion, Habit)
Body = Action (Result)
Children, not yet fixed in their paradigms, readily accept images, making their transformation faster.
Success is a "mind usage skill." By using belief, choice, imagination, and willpower effectively, anyone can change their results. Shut out external noise and focus only on your "truly desired future."
Write down the following on a piece of paper:
"I can't do △△ because I am ○○."
Write 10 reasons, then add next to each:
→ "Really?"
Next, rewrite it:
→ "That's not true. Because I am ○○, I can also do △△."STEP 2: Habit Change Exercise - Mini Experiment
Exercise Name: 3-Day Challenge
Choose one habit you want to change (e.g., checking your phone endlessly at night, waking up late, comparing yourself to others on social media, etc.). Replace it with the opposite behavior (e.g., don't bring your phone to bed, set your alarm 10 minutes earlier, take 1-minute deep breaths before opening social media).
Try it for 3 days!
Whether you succeed or fail, the experience builds confidence.Final Words: Daily Affirmation
"I can change. Slowly, but surely."
- Thank you everyone〜〜〜I'm hoping to join this〜〜〜
