Many of the people who you "can't have discussions with"

think that the purpose of the discussion is to "get their point across".

The real meaning of "discussion" is not to make one's point,

but to understand the other party's point.

The minimum requirement for a discussion is to convey,

"I am willing to change for your sake."

If you listen to the other person's point of view with this in mind,
