Netflix to launch ad-supported plan in November for ¥790/month

[LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13 (Reuters) - U.S.-based Netflix, a video-streaming service, announced on Wednesday it will introduce an ad-supported plan in November to attract new subscribers.

The new plan, "Ad-supported Basic," will cost $6.99 per month (790 yen in Japan), $3 less than the cheapest plan without ads. The new plan will be introduced in 12 countries including the U.S., Germany, Japan, and South Korea, starting on November 1 in the U.S. and on November 4 in Japan.
