■ Focus on what you can control
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

In this current age of novel viruses and the pandemic,

it can expand our anxieties.

That gives birth to a feeling of powerlessness

or a loss of confidence.

What we know from psychology research is that

humans need

"a feeling of being in control of their own life"

When a child who could not do anything alone, grows bigger,

they start emphasizing that they want to "do things themselves!"

Even if they can't do it well, they "want to do it myself"
and that feeling of "I'm taking the reins" is very important as a human.

However in this current situation

more and more things that "we used to be able to decide for ourselves" are being taken away.

・cannot meet the people we want to
・cannot do the things we like
・didn't even choose to, but must work at home

etc.

The more we think "I can't decide myself"

people begin to feel powerless, they lose confidence and motivation.

What is important in a time like that?

Multiple leaders and heads of great businesses and historical figures learned the following.

"Learn to tell the difference in what is happening in your life,

between what you can control and what you cannot control.

And focus on what you can control"

What you cannot control are things like

the weather, things that happen in life, the evaluation of others, other people's opinions, how the environment will change etc.

What we can control is the following:

●1)What you focus on

Whether you focus on the problem or on the solution.

Will you focus on what will make the other person happy, or on your feelings of it being troublesome?

Will you focus on what is right in front of you, or on a year from now

Will you focus on what you can do, or on what you cannot do.

We can absolutely always control "where we place our focus" and we can control our own focus.

Where do you often find yourself focusing?

If we watch TV, our focus will be hijacked by the TV.

In order to heighten our focus,

we need to take in quality input and learning

and write out what we are thinking now, or the things that are making us anxious.

Write it all out in a notebook.

If you write down what you are thinking about you can also tell what you are focused on.

●2)What meaning you give to what is happening

There are many things that go on in life.

We cannot control what happens.

"what meaning we give to what happens"

is what we can always control.

Please remember this.

"Everything that happens is a hint to make your life better"

Every time something happens, try asking yourself,

"What is this teaching me?

What can I learn from this?"

Also, these words "There is no such thing as failure, until you call it that"

is very important.

Failure is a "meaning" you give an event.

It's merely that you gave it that label.

So there is no such thing as failure in this world until you label it as a failure.

In this time, if left to themselves, many people take on meanings the will drag them down.

Even if you can't control what goes on in your life,

you can 100% decide on the meaning that you give the events.

The quality of your life is the quality of your meaning.

Control how you give meaning, change your emotions and take action.

●3)What decisions you make, and what actions you take
No matter what state you are in, "decision" is what decides to change the courage you are on.

If you are in a trying situation,

by decided you will "get out" of that situation, is when the problem solving begins.

If there is something you want to have,

deciding that you will get it is how the "achievement process" begins working.

If you are late, you simply need to decide, "I'll start now!"

If you don't like your room being messy, all you need to do is decide "I'll spend the next 100 minutes cleaning up"

Please remember this.

As long as you don't choose to be a victim,

you can continue to change our own life by your decisions.

If you decide that "I am a victim" of my situation or surroundings or my past,

you just need to go with the flow, and it may be very easy.

However, it will also take away your fulfillment and your joy.

Focus Meaning, Decide!

Decide to control these 3, and let's create the best year yet!

O God, give us
serenity to accept what cannot be changed,
courage to change what should be changed,
