"It's not what you gain that matters. It's who you become."

Let's learn from Takamasa Ikeda's mail magazine 〜

"It's not what you gain that matters.

 It's who you become."

"It's who you grow to be" in the process.

"Difficulties don't change a person.

Difficulties only reveal the kind of person that person was."

"Lack of time"→that's why I can't do it.

"Lack of time"→Let's improve how we use our time.

"Set a goal, grow to meet it, and keep changing."

The principle is that if you want above-average rewards,

you must become an above-average person.

The year 2022 is coming around soon.

How do you plan to spend your year-end and New Year holidays?

Every year, I think of the year-end and New Year's holidays

as a miniature version of the next year.

Depending on what blueprint I draw here, it could turn out to be almost exactly that, or it could turn out to be a year that far exceeds the blueprint.

I'll tell you how I'm spending my time in the next article.

So let's get started!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
■(HAVE)and (BE) are two sides of the same coin
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

As we move toward our goal, please keep the following in mind.

"It's not what you gain that matters.

 It's who you become."

When we think of goals, it's easy to focus only on what we will get or achieve.

However, what is more important than what you get is "what kind of person you grow to be" in the process of achieving your goal.

People who understand this...

continue to evolve even in situations that many people would use as an excuse.

For example, if you set a goal and you think, "I don't have time to do this,"

"Okay, I'll improve my use of time here," or

"I'll use this chance to learn to delegate"

The "Lack of time" becomes "an opportunity to grow".

The most important purpose of a goal is

not what you will achieve, but rather what kind of person you will become.

Simply put, the goal exists to change you and help you grow.

This is where the big divide is.

Many people set various goals, such as dieting, increasing their income, starting a business, or changing their organization, but in the end, they are thinking,

"Can I reach my goal without changing who I am now"

On the other hand, those who continue to achieve and move up the ladder choose to "set a goal, grow to meet that goal, and keep changing."

考え方を変え、思い込みを変え、習慣を変え、
これまで自分が当たり前だと思っていた常識でさえも、変えてしまいます。

They change their thinking, their assumptions, their habits,

and even the common sense they used to take for granted.

The principles of life are

"If you want a better result, be a better you."

The world is in turmoil, but one thing that top leaders have in common is this:

"Difficulties don't change people.

Difficulties only reveal the kind of person you were."

So we can grow into a better version of ourselves by encountering and learning from our problems and difficulties.

There will be many hurdles to overcome, on the way to your goal.

In the short term, they are a hindrance.

But in the long run, they are a stepping stone to growth.

If you give up when things don't go well, you will never achieve your goal.

However, if you acquire the spirit of not giving up in the face of obstacles,

your life will open up in a completely different way.

The more amazing you become, the more amazing results you will get.

This is the principle of life.

Simply put, the principle is that

if you want to be paid above average

you have to become an above-average person.

However, if you only intend to act below average while hoping for better results, you are not getting the point.

In work and business, there are many things to do.

Some you may be interested in, some you may not.

Not everything in the business is something you want to do, even if you are a business owner who has founded a company.

When this happens, people lose their motivation.

They think, "What's the point of doing all this?"

They also procrastinate, thinking, "It doesn't matter if I do it at the last minute or ahead of schedule, the evaluation won't change."

Unfortunately, this a off way of thinking.

What is important about work is

Rather than asking, "What will I get out of this?

Ask, "Who will I become here?"

Jim Rohn, a mentor to some of the world's most successful people, famously said,

'People often ask me, "How can I get better than average results?'

My advice is always the same.

 "Be better than average."'

The way to do that is

By setting a goal and working to become a person worthy of that goal.

The future where you can get what you want is awaiting you.

I hope this gives you some hints.

This is what stuck with me.

What kind of person are you?

It comes out when we face difficulties, doesn't it?
