Jesse Itsler says he succeeded precisely because he didn’t have the knowledge —
he wasn’t bound to doing things the same way as everyone else.

He talks about the questions we ask ourselves.
Would you recommend yourself to you as a ○○?
For example:
Would you recommend yourself
as a cooking instructor?
As a math tutor?
As a romantic partner?
As a marketing expert?
And if your answer is “no,”
then why not?
Mindset and Practical Strategies for Sales Success

💡The Theory and Step by Step Strategy for Successful Sales
This lecture is based on the conclusion that 90% of sales success comes from mindset.
It begins by emphasizing the importance of inner preparation (Being),and then moves step by step into concrete action strategies (Doing).
The market itself also depends on how you think.
When it comes to handling objections:people who fail usually try only once or twice,
while those who succeed make four to five attempts before closing.
The key to closing is simple:
Don’t talk.
Make your client’s desire your own desire.
Desire = Aspiration.
An AI to help you bounce things off of--a partner that helps you look inward.
Ask yourself:
What are my values? What do I truly care about?
What is my vision?
What problems do I want to solve?
Human beings are inherently self-centered.
We tend to think, “How can I sell this?”

Instead, ask:
Who is my client?
What do they desire?
What do they want to make come true?
Shift your approach —from hunter-style sales to farmer-style sales. 🌾
8 Key Points — Brian Tracy
1. Establishing Mindset and “Being” (Purpose of Existence)
In sales, results are determined not by skill, but by mindset — specifically, by cultivating a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA).
🔹 Clarify Your “Being” — Your Mission and Purpose
Define your mission — why you exist and what gives meaning to your life.
Identify your core values (e.g., love, gratitude, growth, challenge) and train yourself to return to these values in every situation.
🔹 Connect Motivation to “Being”
Don’t let your motivation stop at the Doing level (goals, objectives, or reasons).
Instead, connect it to your Being — your purpose for existing.
This connection prevents burnout and allows for faster recovery after setbacks.
🔹 Deepen Self-Awareness
Reflect on your past pain, losses, and moments that moved your emotions.
Include how others see you, and find the patterns that reveal your deeper “why.”
Express it in words through journaling, and update it over time.
🔹 Build Four Pillars of Confidence
Sales begins with reprogramming your own mind.
Intentionally strengthen these four areas of confidence:
Confidence in your company
Confidence in your profession
Confidence in your product
Confidence in yourself
Aim to understand your clients so deeply that they say,
“You’re the one who understands me better than anyone in the world.”
2. The Sales Process and the Shift to Relationship-Based (Farming) Sales
To achieve lasting results, stop thinking “How can I sell this?”
Instead, focus on “What does the client truly want, and how can I help them achieve it?”
🔹 The Formula for Sales Success
Results = Skill × Mindset
But among the two, mindset is what drives everything.
🔹 Shift from Hunting to Farming
Move from hunter-style sales (chasing short-term results)
to farmer-style sales (building long-term trust and nurturing relationships).Like the speaker’s example of approaching Takumi Yamazaki,
aim to build a “trust balance” so strong that the client eventually buys from you
— not because you persuade them, but because they want to.
(In his case, it took seven years to build that trust before Yamazaki purchased
without needing any product explanation.)
The essence of work is using your time to bring joy to your clients.
Worrying about yourself is not part of the job.
3. Prospecting Strategy
Build a system that creates a semi-permanent chain of relationships —
the “X–Y–Z” connection, ensuring a never-ending stream of prospects.
🔹 Researching Competitors and Concept
Study both direct and indirect competitors to understand their concepts.
Clarify your own: “Who are you selling to?” “What are you selling?” “How are you selling it?”
Identify your unique differentiation, your one-of-a-kind strength, and the specific market segment where you can become No.1.
These become the core of your strategy.
🔹 Two Major Systems for Prospect Acquisition
1. “Box Rotation” (Community-Building)
Create multiple small, enjoyable communities with little competition—through regular events, gatherings, or study sessions.
This generates frequent contact with prospects (the Zajonc Effect) and deepens relationships.
Golden Rule: Never try to close the deal in the first meeting.
2. “Key-Person Focus” Strategy
Identify key people who are most likely to continuously introduce new prospects,
and concentrate your time and energy on them (e.g., the top 20% among 20 acquaintances).Focus on delighting these key people and building deep trust to gain high-quality referrals.
Create a visual list of key people and the prospects connected to them,
then prioritize your approach based on this network map.
🔹 The “Strategic Giver” Approach
Become a strategic giver — someone who gives freely without expecting immediate returns, while recognizing whether the other person also has a giver mindset.
This mindset sustains an endless flow of quality information and connections.
Stimulate the five emotional triggers that make people want to introduce you:
The desire to show off (they feel elevated by introducing you)
The desire to be appreciated (fulfilled through sincere gratitude and follow-up)
The joy of sharing something fun
The desire to share inspiration or emotion
Financial incentive
🔹 Transitioning to Closing
Within the Key-Person strategy, once trust is built,
introduce your products or training from the angle of “this might help your peers achieve their goals.”
The goal is to reach a stage where they naturally say:“Maybe I should buy something from you.”
Act as if you are already a successful salesperson,
and enter every meeting with the mindset that“The person I’m meeting absolutely likes me.”
4. Summary
The core of this lecture comes down to one principle:
“Thoughts become reality.”
Desire: Focus first on understanding your client’s wants and challenges,
and becoming the person who can help fulfill them.Approach: Enter every sales conversation with the conviction:
“This person definitely likes me.”
Change: Don’t deny negative emotions — instead, recognize that
unless your mindset changes, your reality won’t.
By continuously updating your awareness and behavior day by day,
you inevitably move closer to success.
