Recently I've been limited my daily tasks to just 6 things in a day

Things sped up and there were so many good things as a result.

  • By limiting it to 6, I can start with what is highest priority
  • You use less brain energy and decision making power that is used to decide "what to do?"
  • No need to multitask because what needs to be done now is clear, so that increases work effectiveness and efficiency.
  • There is an end in sight so you can give it your all.
  • Increased sense of achievement and exhilaration because you can finish most things in that day with high efficiency
  • When you know you've done your best for the day you can also enjoy yourself without feeling guilty.

It's better not to try to do this and that without deciding on the nuber of what you will get to

C・M・Schwapp was one of the leading kings of steel in the USA.

When he was still running a smaller company,

he met a business consultant called I. B. Lee.

It was extremely hard to get an appointment with him because Mr. Schwapp was so busy.

So one day Mr. Lee said, "Then I will teach you first about how to not be so busy".

What he asked him to do first was to "write out 6 things that you must do tomorrow".

Then after that, he asked him to decide which of them he will do first and number them in order of importance.

He said, "Please take care of your work in this order tomorrow. If you do this daily you will become less busy."

After the day's work finished, he would write out the 6 things to do the following day, and number them. That took roughly 10 minutes of Schwapp's time.
