I love Michio Hoshino's books,
I picked it up again at the Odawara Station bookstore the other day.
There is this one story in there.
A man is going down a river in Alaska in a rubber boat.
He comes across a bald eagle.
A breathtaking moment.
And for this bald eagle
There is no past, no future.
That's right.
It is living moment by moment.
He is also living in the moment.
He calls this moment of living in this moment "inner nature."
Like a child, when we lived without being distracted by the past or the future.
To encounter that "inner nature."
The description is like a single photograph taken from the whole
Somehow this story soothes my heart.
