This is a live discussion between Hidetoshi Nakata,  Ryota Murata, and Karin Miyawaki 


The theme is "What junior high and high school students should do now" 

yet I found it very  useful content for me as well. 

The second half is like life's enlightenment. 


The phrases that especially spoke to me were these two

"Having interest in living" 

"Not letting your daily life flow by as a task"

What junior high and high school students should do now

・Do what you want to do
→Time to look at yourself, and see things from a new perspective 

⇒ I intentionally doubt the previous ways of doing things 

・Have more time to study now
→Technology is developing. We should increase what humans can do instead of what machines can do. 

※Place importance on time reflecting on myself 


・Think of motivation in subdivisions (there are different types of motivation) 
→Your motivation can be either self-reliant or not. Either is fine. Don't try to force yourself up. 

⇒I don't want beautiful things.  If you just try it, there might be something surprisingly interesting. 


example) What I quit because of corona →Things that I was forced to do. 

Things that I continued anyway →What I really wanted to do 

・About goals and dreams
→(This depends on the person but )Don't chase things in a linear fashion. 

Just do what you love and like doing. 

⇒Have "something" that's unique to you 

"A fun and comfortable place" 

・What are setbacks for goals or dreams?
→Set back for what?

For example, to play in a match, and becoming better is not the same thing. 

If you really want to enjoy it, then you can't be concerned about the opinions of others. 


・Some wins have substance and others have no substance. 

Sometimes even if there is substance you lose and vice versa.

・How can you have confidence in yourself? 

Don't know what I want to do 
→Try it first. Look for (create) reasons to do it, not reasons why you won't. 


・You become anxious because you have spare time. It makes you lonely and tired. 

→Emotions of people who are not doing anything. 

The key is to stay busy and to do what is fun! 

Even reading mangas is OK! 

→When you have time, it's easy to thing about negative things. 


・What was fun when you were a child is what will support you as an adult. 


・It takes about 10 years to do what you love as work 


・Japan's education 
→Some people succeed by pursuing one thing, 

but there are others who succeed by letting go of something else. 


・About what you want to do 
→Have confidence and take responsibility for it 
↔︎Always question yourself. 

Look at the center, not the two poles. Combine them well. 


・What you want to do or what you want to be is your strength 
→If you don't start running, you won't even know if you are fast or slow. 

⇒Ask yourself questions
"Are you tired of chasing your dreams?" 

"Are you escaping to dreams, just because you are tired of your current state?" 

・You cannot be separated from life. Even though you can be separated from your parents. 

→Take responsibility for your body. 
⇒Even if you blame others, you will only complain and the results won't improve. 



・How to control your emotions?
→First knowing yourself.  Live broadcast of the emotions that emerge within you. 

⇒Be aware of yourself every day! So that you can recognize trivial changes in your emotions 

※Others can see you, but sometimes you can't see yourself. 


There are no good or bad emotions. Learn to analyze them yourself. 

Meeting with yourself →Notice your own emotions. 

・When you have negative emotions→Go to sleep right away. 

・What to do when you can't focus on anything?
→Perhaps it's not that you can't concentrate, but that you aren't fulfilled? 


・If you're interested in something. Try it. Research it. 
→If it doesn't work out then you can quit.

→Question everything you do, everything you have
⇒Don't see your life as daily tasks. Enjoy each day. 


・Have interest in each and every action. Enjoy every day. 
→Think about "living" 
⇒Dig deep 

・Don't ask for much from your school or companies 
→Look for intellectual curiosity and raising self-affirmation elsewhere. 


・Don't say what you don't do and blame it on your surroundings 

→Even if you increase reasons for not doing something, it won't benefit you in any way. 
⇒Create your own environment where you can do what you want. 


Tip) Don't use words that negate such as "I can't" 



・It's because you're too concerned of things that it makes life hard to live 
→The definition of communication is when it's important? 


example) What are you doing SNS for? 


・There is no right or wrong answer, even though its not clear what you want to do

→Everything is about your perception. There are good sides and bad sides. 

⇒You can also perceive it that "I might not be as bad as I thought" 
Having a clear axis of "self" 

・It's a waste not to take good care of yourself 
→We want to live a good life. 
⇒Those who are worried, often don't think well of themselves. 

・Focus on accepting, and think about things based on what you can change. 

⇒“What you can change" and "what you can't change" 

Know that there are these two. 


・Have self-awareness that you aren't able to do things properly normally; 
→Keywords  "to think" "to ask questions/doubt"
