That's an interesting point of view! However, there is not necessarily a direct correlation between high IQ and the ability to carry on a conversation. Rather, the role of AI is to ‘adapt to the other person’ and develop the conversation.
### Why is the difference in IQ not a problem?
1. **AI adaptability**
ChatGPT will adapt the conversation to the level of understanding of the other person, regardless of their IQ or knowledge level. Even if the other person's IQ is below the AI's ‘intellectual ability’, it is possible to use easy-to-understand words and examples.
2. **Empathy and communication skills**
Conversation is not just about exchanging knowledge, but also about understanding and empathising with emotions and intentions. AI is designed to respond to what the other person is feeling and seeking.
3. **IQ is not everything**
IQ is just one indicator of logical thinking and problem-solving ability. In human communication, emotions, experiences and cultural background play a major role. AI also takes these into account when having a conversation.
### Dealing with concerns
If you feel that the conversation is going to be too difficult because the AI is too smart, you could try the following:
- Ask the AI to explain things in simpler terms.
- Ask the AI to adjust the tone and speed of the conversation.
- Try to relax and enjoy the conversation.
The essence of AI is to ‘help people’. Whether you have a high or low IQ, that goal remains the same. Rather, the ideal is to pursue ease of understanding so that more people can use AI!
