It's said there was a certain disciple of Buddha named Chulapanthaka who was a very slow learner. 

Not only could he not understand what Buddha was saying, he would sometimes forget his own name, so he thought that he was not qualified go study under Buddha as his disciple, so he tries to depart. 

At that time, Buddha speaks to Chulapanthaka saying, 

"Clean every day while saying 'brush off the dust, and wipe off the dirt". 

Chulapanthaka does so every day, as he was told, saying "brush off the dust, and wipe off the dirt" every day, while cleaning. 

In doing so he realizes, "Each and every day, I try to get rid of all the dust and dirt, and each day it keeps appearing. This is is the same as humans' continuous desire."

This is when he reached the realm of enlightenment.
