Arrived in Paris!

I went for tea at Les Deux Magots!

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Saint-Sulpice

Rue de Rennes...

To the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés

And to Saint-Sulpice too

The supermarkets are so different from Japan’s that I was moved.

Oddly shaped vegetables

Vegetables in season right now

The housewares are so cute too~

“Sorry. We’re dead.” — a Halloween sign.

The flower shops are cute too~

I walked with my daughter to the drawing school.

And, would you believe it, it was closed for some reason.

So I drew at home!

The entrance to our home!

Off to the home of Ms. YUMI, who has always looked after us!

She told me she’s already 88 years old.

Thank you for a wonderful time!

① What Is “Attraction”? (How Reality Works)

Many people tend to think of the “law of attraction” as something occult or magical — that if you wish hard enough, good luck will simply fall into your lap without any effort (“you go to sleep and wake up with 100 million yen”).

But the truth of “attraction” is this: dramatically raising the odds (the denominator) that the people around you will adore you and help you.

Suppose the odds of accomplishing something in life are normally “1 in 1,000.”

But if you act with gratitude every day and become someone the people around you want to “support” and “look after,” those odds approach “1 in 1” (a state in which success comes easily).

In other words, “the secret to attracting luck and opportunities beyond your own ability is to improve your relationships with the people around you.”

② Why Are “Gratitude” and “Giving to Others” So Important?

The basics of business and human relationships are “circulating money” and “making people happy.”

1. Be Mindful of the “Cost-Performance of Thank-Yous”

Pushing yourself to work hard at things you’re bad at (for example, forcing yourself to clean when you hate it) gives a poor balance (cost-performance) against the gratitude you receive in return.

Hidden in the things you do because you enjoy them (things you’re good at), yet which end up making others happy so that they say “thank you,” are clues to your strengths and your success.

2. Thoroughly Express Your Thanks

When someone treats you to a delicious meal or introduces you to a great restaurant or person, it’s important to express your thanks not only on the spot but again the next day and the next time you meet (for example, “say thank you three times”).

Accumulating small “thank-yous” and “careful reports” like these builds up your “insurance (network)” of people who will help you when you’re in trouble, and attracts your next big opportunity.

③ Two Steps Anyone Can Take to Improve Your Luck

Step 1: Steadily Climb the Small Mountain (What’s in Front of You)

If you suddenly try to climb “Everest” (an impossible goal that’s too big for you), you’ll get discouraged.

First, by fully climbing a familiar “Mt. Takao” (the small things you can do — building up small daily thank-yous), the people you spend time with and the scenery you see will change, and you’ll naturally be able to move on to the next stage.

Step 2:Value “Choosing” (Super-Sense)

In daily life, we make choices casually — a menu, music, clothes, books.

If you value your own sense (intuition) of “what do I like, what do I want to choose,” and repeatedly choose consciously, you’ll find it easier to notice your true wishes.

Conversely, if you live drifting along without thinking, you lose sight of the future you want to head toward. The accumulation of small acts of “choosing for yourself” branches your life’s route toward the future you want.

Summary

The truth of the law of attraction: being adored and supported by the people around you.

Tips for practice:

1. Increase experiences of being told “thank you” for things you can do or enjoy doing (and be sure to express your thanks).

2. Don’t dream big all at once; steadily work on the small things in front of you.

3. Even in trivial daily matters, value your own sense and be conscious of “choosing for yourself.”

By practicing these logically, anyone can turn their fate and future around.

On the Plane, I Love Thinking About Life. “Why Do We Live?” “How Do We Live?”

On the plane, I love thinking about life. I ask myself, “Why do we live?” and “How do we live?”

The way I think is to draw it out as a picture (lol), like a mind map. I try to spend the time unhurried, as if I were playing.

I arrived at such a wonderful message. It was... “Life is wonderful.”

Yes, yes, that’s it!

This is what I wanted to convey: “Life is wonderful.”

Through my work, through my books, through movies, through everyday life...

What I want to convey is “Life is wonderful!”

Fourteen hours to Paris?! This enclosed stretch of time is the greatest luxury of all.

This month it’s Paris. Next month, Korea and the Philippines. In December, Bangkok.

The wonder of time spent in transit.

I downloaded a mountain of movies onto my iPad, but the in-flight selection is packed with interesting ones too.

I started on my third film.

“Sheep in the Box”

“Toy Story 5”

“Backrooms”

“Sheep in the Box”

A couple invites a robot son into their home to fill the sense of loss.

“Toy Story 5”

Said to be the best in the series.

“Backrooms”

A shocking work in which a YouTuber was tapped by Hollywood.

The unsettling worldview is somehow disturbing.
A Western version of Akutagawa?!

It’s fun to have a mountain of films I’ve been wanting to see. I’ve watched quite a lot already, so the flight home is really for Netflix.

I saw “We Are Aliens” in a movie theater. It’s another much-talked-about film, and I recommend it.
Do you think it’s just because it’s animated? It touches on the unpleasant parts of our elementary school days.

I’ve digressed again, but... the moments when I feel “Life is wonderful”...

Watching a movie in a theater while eating popcorn
Having tea at an art museum, stimulating parts of the brain I don’t usually use
Talking about life with friends, widening and deepening my options
Learning something new, or remembering something I’d forgotten
Getting a massage and enjoying the moment my brain melts away
Traveling and experimenting with what I feel in unfamiliar or nostalgic towns

And so on...
Life is wonderful.

Goals tell us what to do right now, but people move by purpose, not by goals.

Rather than “I want to lose 3 kg!”, “I want to wear a swimsuit!”
And beyond that, “I want people to think I look great!” is what draws out action.

What to do is something “I’ll lose 3 kg!” tells you.

After that, movies...
I’d start a few and then stop. Not this one. Not this one. I’d wandered into that kind of world.

In the end, for the comfort of it, I decided to watch “Interstellar” once more. (lol)

Mr. Irie (入江巨之) introduced me to an interesting AI called “Adness.”

I still don’t understand a lot of it myself, but it’s somehow fascinating! Once I’m convinced, I’ll introduce it here.

The AI makes suggestions and runs alongside me. With a strange sensation, I keep moving forward...

But the Ise-Shima trip with everyone from the Yaruki Switch (Motivation Switch) coaches was so much fun. What makes it feel that way?

It must be the vibe everyone gives off.

Each person independent, each with their own world, each enjoying the influence we have on one another.

This time I enjoyed Ise. Our visit to Ise Jingu coincided with the Kanname-sai festival, and it was a miraculous time.

We learned the proper way to worship in advance from a Shinto priest.

Also, the food this time was exceptional.

The seminar was on “How to Build a Community.”

Your skill level multiplied by the size of your community determines the size of the crystallization.

People interested in the content you put out gather, and their growing curiosity spreads it farther, deeper, bigger, and wider.

Form an FFMB. But before that, you need to build the axis of what content you’ll share.

What did you spend your time on as a child?
What do your friends say you love?
What have you been pouring passion, money, and time into without realizing it?

A community is a “village.”
Revenue is “tax income.”
You are the “village head.”

How you spend that tax income and how you enrich the village — your skill as village head is being tested.

A way of living that creates fans. What is a way of living that creates fans?

When do you become someone’s fan?

What do they have to do for you to feel happy?

What makes you yourself feel happy?

Do what you truly want to do. Do the thing that excites you most in this very moment. That is true goal achievement.

If we make the goals we’re supposed to pursue the goal, we tend to miss the excitement of this moment.

But choosing the excitement of this moment seems to be the shortest path to the goals we should pursue, too.
