Born in Sumida ward, Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, joined Kobunsha. He has been friends with many historical writers such as Shusaku Endo、Yasunari Kawabata、Yukio Mishima、Seicho Matsumoto
