“You’re always playing games! Is that really okay?!”

...But saying that doesn't change anything.

Actually—it usually just makes the relationship worse.

So what’s the secret of kids who can balance gaming and studying?

Think about it:

  • Club activities and entrance exams

  • Work and personal life

  • Success and happiness

  • Parenting and career

  • Love and work

  • Dreams and reality

  • Ideals and compromise

A child who’s deeply immersed in gaming—
A friend of mine, a professional volleyball player, once said:
“Pro gamers actually earn more than we do.”

What if your child were pouring that same passion into
volleyball, soccer, cheer, or dance—
giving their all, and showing real potential?

Gaming is on track to become an Olympic event.
It's not just “wasting time” anymore.

That’s why I’ve created a worksheet to help guide you through this.
Try working through it step by step—

It’s not just about changing behavior.
It’s about building a stronger relationship.

Yesterday, I filmed a video with Dr. Hideto Tomabechi.

ーーー

Among the many powerful insights on coaching,
one idea in particular stood out:

Set your goal (i.e., your dream) outside of your current reality (W1)—in W2.

If you set your goal within your current reality (W1),
it becomes nothing more than maintenance of the status quo.

But when you place your goal in W2—outside your known reality—
it becomes unfamiliar and unclear by nature.

Because anything you can clearly define or visualize
already belongs to W1—your current world.

And in that case, you won’t truly feel the vividness or “presence” of the goal.
We’re often told that “vivid presence brings dreams into reality.”

But here’s where Dr. Tomabechi reveals a critical trap:

When we try to feel vivid presence,
we often do it by patching together pieces of what we already know.

In other words, when we create our goal using collaged images from past experiences,

we risk anchoring that goal back into W1—our known world.

So where should we place that vivid sense of presence?

The answer:
In your “present self,” right here, right now.

Start from the future dream and reverse-engineer it.
Ask yourself:

“If I were the version of me who had already achieved this dream,
how would I be living today? What mindset would I embody right now?”

Give vivid presence not to the goal itself,
but to the “way of being” that connects this moment to that future.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing this message with 700 graduating coaches.
There’s no time to lose.

By the way—some people say,

“I can’t find my W2 dream.”

In most cases, that’s because their level of abstraction is still too low.

But here’s a simple way to break through:

Add an element of “altruism” to your dream.

Not in the self-sacrificing sense—
but in the spirit of:

“For all of us, including myself.”

That shift—from

“For me”
to
“For us”

is the key that opens the door to W2.
