Lions Gate is a spiritual gateway between the universe and the earth. The gate is usually closed, but it is believed to open only for 18 days every year from July 26 to August 12. To Kumano Imperial Shrine

The Kumano Imperial Shrine is located at the top of the Usui Pass in Karuizawa and is known as one of the three great Kumano shrines in Japan. The shrine building straddles the border between Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture and Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture, with the center of the shrine marking the border between the two prefectures.

After climbing the stairs and proceeding to the left, you will see the sacred tree "Shinanoki". The hollow in the center of the tree, when viewed from a certain angle, is shaped like a heart. It is a popular power spot for good luck and matchmaking!
