■ The Magic of "just listening"
□■━━━━━
┌1)The 6 second wall of communication
└──────
Here' a quiz
What does this number mean?
【23 seconds】
The answer is・・・
---------------
The average time between
when a patient starts explaining their symptoms
and when the doctor
interrupts.
---------------
How about this number?
【29 seconds】
The answer is・・・
---------------
The average time
in which a patient feels like
they have communicated everything
that they wanted to.
---------------
The above is from a research done by Dr. Howard Beckman,
at the Medical center of the University of Rochester.
Think about it.
The important things,
often come out at the end of your communication.
Just【6 more seconds】
If you can suppress
the urge to interrupt
for just a little longer,
the accuracy of the information collected
would improve greatly.
┌2)The Magic of "just listening"
└──────
Even in the professional field of diagnosis
Problems like this come up.
How about in our daily lives?
∴‥∵‥∴‥∵‥∴
How much are you actually listening
to your parents, children, or your partner?
How about your friends, and teammates?
How much are you listening to them?
Or how about your customers or business partners?
How much are you listening to them?
∴‥∵‥∴‥∵‥∴
We tend to start thinking about
what we will say next,
or want to give advice just a little too soon.
Just listening
is difficult.
But when you've
fully listened to the other person,
is when for the first time,
that person is ready to listen to you.
You'll be surprised at the change in reaction afterwards.
The more you have things you want to say,
The more you want the best for that person,
please try "just listening"
We have in our hands this magic of "just listening"
Thank you for reading

From Noda-san mail magazine・・・
There are times when I get angry.
Or when there are not nice people.
The absurdity of it can make you sick of it and feel sad ・・・
Than you for the chance to learn patience and tolerance!
